Summer '06

Spent summer installing 4 'herd sire' runs.  Each with its own run in shed and LOTS of gates. It has made for much less male fighting and MUCH easier breeding for me. Other than that I kept busy just with the regular summer daily routines.

Winter '05/'06

-Some down time at last.  Chores, breedings, and getting animals ready for shows - it is a daily routine that is very relaxing.

-Some good snows, but some very warm spells as well.  Because of the moisture and the warmth, some of the pasture has taken a beating

-New stray cat.  We've named her cloud.  She loves to nest in the hay bin and the animals don't seem to mind eating around her.

Fall '05:

-Finally some adequate rain.  Hopefully enough to get a third cutting from the hayfield.

-9th Annual Michigan International Alpaca Fest -- Birch Run, MI -- September 24-25, 2005

                    +Bunny - 6th in a very competitive white class.

Summer '05:

-Low amounts of rain has left many things dry.  Previous two years had too much rain - now too little.  Weather is always feast or famine.

-Several cria born, not all were text book, but nothing unusual either.

-"Ended" the summer by bringing Bunny to the Portage County Fair.

-Obtained a new tractor for mowing the lawn and pastures and is capable of other chores.

-Not long ago also obtained a used manure spreader and a used trailer.  They have both been very useful.
